Checklist
What every resident is asked to do, and when. Requires the Checklist entitlement.
This page configures the resident checklist. Your own setup checklist is a different list pointed at the community, and is deliberately not editable here.

Three kinds of item

Deleting a saved row reverts a default to stock, or removes a custom item outright. That is why defaults cannot be deleted: there is always something to revert to.
Derived items
Most stock items complete themselves from real records rather than from a resident pressing a button:

Derived items cannot be ticked by hand, by anyone. That is what makes the list trustworthy.
"Completes itself" marks a derived item. Edited rows can be reverted to stock.
Feature-gated items
An item can require a feature flag, and disappears for communities without it. The lease item needs Tenants; the dues item needs Payments; the documents item needs Bylaws. You do not have to prune the list for features you do not have.
Configuring an item
Per item: title, description, order, required or optional, enabled or disabled, and where it links. The contact-details item additionally takes the specific profile fields completing it requires, and the profile page marks exactly those as required.
Advice
Keep required short. A list of twenty required items gets abandoned; a list of five gets finished, and the optional rest still get read.
