Leases
Send a lease for electronic signature and track it to completion. Requires the Tenants entitlement and a signature balance. See credits.
Two ways to send
Upload a PDF. Stage the file and send it. Fine for one-off leases and addenda.
Use a template. Store a fillable PDF once and fill its fields per send. Better for anywhere you send the same document repeatedly. The template lists its fillable fields, including checkboxes and radio groups, and checkbox states keep their PDF name form, so send back the exact value the field reports.
Who signs
- The primary resident, whose email the lease is keyed to.
- Co-signers: other tenants on the same lease, such as a spouse or roommate. They sign alongside the primary resident, not after, so nobody waits on anybody.
- The countersigner: your community's side of the signature block. Routed last, so your signature lands on a lease the residents have already signed.
One send costs one signature regardless of how many people are on it.
Signature blocks
If the document draws its own signature blocks, the page lists them with the party label the document uses ("Tenant 1", "Tenant 2") and the page it is on. Assign people to blocks explicitly rather than relying on roster order, which is how the wrong person ends up signing the wrong line.
A block that marks a signature but names nobody shows as unnamed for you to fill in.
Rent and fees
A lease can carry the monthly rent and extra fees: a one-time charge such as a pet deposit or move-in fee, or a monthly add-on such as pet rent.
Tracking
Every lease is sent, completed or declined. A resident sees theirs on My Household with a signing link while it is outstanding and a download link once complete, and their checklist item tracks the same status.
