Manage Events

The community calendar. Requires the Events entitlement.

Creating one

Title, start, optional end, description, and either a typed location or one of your rentable spaces.

RSVPs

Off unless you turn them on for that event. A calendar carries invitations and notices alike, and only the first kind is answerable.

With RSVPs on you can cap attendance. Once the cap is reached, further going answers become a waitlist with positions, so a withdrawal has an obvious next person rather than a scramble.

Members see the headcount. Only admins can load the guest list, which is what lets the numbers be public while the names are not.

Repeating events

Daily, weekly, every two weeks or monthly, with an end date. The series is created as real occurrences, held in your community's time zone, so a 6pm meeting stays at 6pm across a daylight saving change.

When you edit or delete, choose whether it applies to one occurrence or the whole series.

Holding a space

Link an event to a space instead of typing a location and the space is actually reserved for that time: it stops showing as available to residents.

If a space is already taken, the event still saves but does not hold the space, and you are told which occurrences that applies to. That is common on a repeating event where a few dates collide with existing bookings. Check the list rather than assuming the whole series is held.

Admins can schedule any active space, including events-only spaces residents cannot book for themselves.

Public events

Mark an event publicly visible to put it on the public website and the lobby screen. Everything else stays internal.
